Music Photography Rates

As a musician, a headshot is an important promotional tool because it creates an instant impression of you as a working musician. Your headshot should communicate that you are pleasant, fun and professional, but not all headshots portray good things about you. It can easily create a negative image of you, portraying you as distant, amateur, and boring. If you care about getting press coverage, you should care about having quality photos. A well written bio or press release with a headshot is more likely to get published than one without a headshot. For vocalists (and even instrumentalists - especially if you do a lot of solo work) headshots are a necessity for most auditions and competitions. Concert presenters will also expect you to have your headshot on hand.
